Chris Holbrook and Watson Engineering made headlines in 2014 with the first NHRA legal 7-second Cobra Jet at the NHRA Gatornationals.
Later in the year Holbrook added the US Nationals Factory Showdown crown to his mantle for the second straight time. But that was last year, and for these racing families the day after one season is the first day for the next.
In anticipation of record breaking performance Watson Engineering have updated Holbrook’s Factory Showdown NHRA Stocker with a new 7.50 ET certified cage, indicating that we can expect 2015 passes that dip below the 8.50 elapsed times we saw in 2014. Holbrook had this to say, “The competition in NHRA Factory Showdown has been fierce and we need to stay a step ahead, updating the cage certification ensures we have room to go faster if we need it. We’re preparing for the start of the season finding horsepower for ourselves and our customers. Our goal is to put Holbrook Racing Engines and Watson Engineering in the winner’s circle every chance we get.”
The NHRA Factory Stock Showdown is a heads-up racing series that runs at select NHRA events. The NHRA racing season starts February 6th at the Pomona Winternationals.
